is it over yet?

Living in Northwest Indiana, you never really "think" about when winter will be over, but rather just endure the harshness and frigidness of it all. Of course, there are days when winter can be beautiful.... when you are looking out of your living room window with the warmth from the fire place keeping you cozy... it's then that you tend to forget just how badly you want to see something green. I think winter has its pretty moments... just a few, though. After Thanksgiving till Christmas day, and then up until the New Year, winter is beautiful... but after that.. it becomes horrible. It just isn't beautiful anymore when snowfall reaches 12 inches in one day, or when the wind chill is -30 degrees. I really do try to see beauty in that, and it's very hard for me to find it. I know it's there however, because when it is gone, and it's a smoldering 100 degrees with a heat index making it feel like 110...a day of snow would be a treat. Can we ever be happy? Thankfully, God has given us a variety, and we do have an option to spend our days in other less harsh environments! Just imagine how complacent we would be if there were no changes in seasons. That is one of the things that I enjoy the most about God's wonderful creation! I love the change in seasons...even though sometimes I wish winter would change more quickly than it usually does!
