Life in TN

Well, I don't know how well I am adjusting to life out in the wilderness. No, I'm just kidding, it's only 20 acres, but to me it feels like wilderness. When the sound of crickets and frogs keep you awake at night... that's a lil bit too country for me! Give me some interstate traffic... please! So far I have had no major incidents.. just a million ticks, flea bites, fighting off the biggest hornets I've ever seen in my life.. (today I saw one, and you could have almost mistook it for a small hummingbird), almost running the well dry (we got sand in the toilets and coming out of the faucets - I so am a bottled water drinker from now on)... and to top it off today I stepped on a nail while we were tearing down the well house. I have never sweated so much in all my life, ran so fast, nor watched so closely every where I go (except for that nail I missed). I was too busy worrying about stepping on a diamond back or cottonmouth to see the nail. It is a totally different world down here. Every one is nice (at least to your face), and super slow. Everyone takes their time with everything. I am trying so hard to keep my Yankee accent. I am super proud of that. There have been several times when I have literally not been able to understand someone when they have spoken to me. I end up being embarrassed when I have to ask them to repeat themselves several times. Finally, I just shake my head, smile, and pretend to have "gotten it". I can't wait to come home. I miss every one so much. There's no place like home. I'm sure one day I'll hate the interstate traffic, and I'll actually miss the country. But until then.......give me some smog, traffic, and city lights!

These are some of the things I've seen around here..... that's the other thing. I have so many pics to post.. but again, thanks to being so far out in the middle of no where... Internet???? Fast Internet??? ... not an option. So, I have to post one pic at a time.. and let's just say it takes FOREVER. It takes me 45 minutes to get to the nearest Starbucks... but that is gonna become my home away from home... WI-FI!!!

The first time I saw one of these Texas Grasshoppers... I ran for my life. I have never seen anything like it. It had to be about 4-5 inches in length.
There are so many kinds of mushrooms all over the yard - Most of them are very bright and very pretty... those are the kind to stay away from.

Another pretty one

We have nine lil puppies running around the yard... they are too cute.. and always in trouble.. this one looks so innocent.
